Hi, my name is David Hickinbotham.

I work in Food Production.

I've always been into cars both modern and classic, so really it was just a natural progression to become involved in the car scene following my passion.

I currently drive a 1993 Classic Rover Mini with a 1275 Gt engine from the late 80s. It has had an extensive2.5 year restoration from the previous owner. It was originally registered as a Rover Rio Mini but now looks like a Mini Cooper.

The mini wasn't my first car but it has been one I was working towards until I was very lucky and won it from Dream Car Giveaways, but if I hadn't won it I would have still worked towards owning one.

My first car was a mk4 golf although it should have been a Bora I had won through ebay but sadly turned out to be a con so ended up going to the nearest garage to where I should have picked the Bora up from and purchased the golf.

I still have a few plans for the mini yet, recently I added two spotlights although I am undecided whether

to add another two. I'm looking into changing to silicone pipes in the engine bay and a custom airbrushed rocker gasket cover. Other than that it's pretty much where I want it to be.

I'm part of UKMM (UK Mixed Modified) it's only a small group at the moment but they do aim to grow so they can run some events as it was started as a way to run events to help raise money for charities through cars.

I've been to many shows, events and meets, mainly local meets such as Motor Madness in Aberystwyth. Ialso go further afield and help run a charity event for the Beat Cancer Cavalier in Tamworth. The big Cars shows I've been to are PVS, The Fast Car Show, and Trax multiply times.

I've entered a few competitions for various prizes and just for fun, such as photo competitions to win, valeting products to competitions for actual cars. The biggest win I've had is the Mini through Dream Car Giveaways after only purchasing two tickets on it.

My dream car would be a Mini 30 because I've always admired them since I was 6 years old. Although  I am pretty close to it with my current car.
