How it was back then and how it is now

Back when i was young the car scene was pretty much like it is now, i had that exact RS turbo how i miss that car, it's good to look back and see how it was back then, the cars are still around today, now they are highly sort after and alot more expensive, because of nostalgia and rarity , I’d still swap my car for an RS turbo or Cosworth, there was more car magazines out then, maxpower, fast ford, fast car, these created this desire to have the best looking car, the fastest and meanest, sadly they have all gone turned into big money review mags, hopefully ours will take their place as the main route for modified and nice looking cars. check this article and Group out, Max Power a big player in the old scene

It’s impossible to fully appreciate the impact that Max Power had on British modified car culture when it was launched upon an unsuspecting public way back in 1993. Its simple, down to earth style and willingness to stick two fingers up at authority endeared it to millions of would-be feature car owners around the country, and it’s no exaggeration to say that this publication (and in time the likes of Fast Car, Redline and Revs) shaped and defined modified car culture for almost fifteen years. Yes it’s easy to mock 1.2 Novas groaning under the weight of poorly fitted Delta kits and cheap sub woofers, but then that’s the benefit of hindsight. When done with care, skill and attention to detail some of Max Power’s creations (be they built by the mag itself or its rabid fan base) could be genuinely amazing, and many of them become part of modified car folklore.

Not much as changed with the stigma either, maybe this is down to some minor bad apples , most people are trying to change this and with all the facebook groups and clubs getting involved and doing a dam good job at organising events, with stewards and rules, this is benefiting everyone, and makes it more family orientated, the future is bright for the car scene.

Look how it as changed the cars are better, faster, more modernised, bigger events, sport is involved now with drifting and track attacks, spending an afternoon at a car event is now a full family thing, weather it's the people you meet on the day or through your facebook group, you will always have a great experience, there is a lot more you can do at events now, track days, drift what ya brung, show and shine competitions, club stands and a multitude of other activities, this is a show i attend with my car, it was on show, T12 shot the footage, and he’s done a great job with the final edited version.
